Film Fest 919, Southern Village Market Street and The Lumina Theater have announced their collaboration on “Art in the Park: On Screen,” a series of outdoor screenings of filmed concerts, performances and first-run festival films.
“Film Fest 919 is thrilled to bring the arts on screen to the Community,” Randi Emerman, founder and executive director of Film Fest 919. “What a perfect way to view, opera, dance, concerts and more than on that big movie theater screen and even better outside in a safe, comfortable, exciting venue. We are so pleased to be working with Southern Village Market Street and The Lumina on this series and look forward to creating this new cultural experience for many more years to come.”
“We’re happy to be able to bring a different kind of programming to the outdoor movie series and give people a chance to experience music, art, opera, ballets and all things creative in a safe environment,” Doug Rowe, general manager of The Lumina Theater, said.
The program launches Tuesday, August 25 with a screening of The Rolling Stones: Havana Moon. The film will screen again on Wednesday, August 26.
The next week, on September 1 and 2, will feature screenings of Verdi’s Rigoletto, as performed on the water stage at Lake Constance, Bregenz.
More films and dates will be announced so0n, including Film Fest 919 selections that will play as part of the program throughout the month of October.
Tickets for Havana Moon and Rigoletto will be available on Lumina’s website later today. Each outdoor seating pod costs $45 and seats up to five people, in order to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
